You can borrow books, magazines, DVDs, CDs and some items such as sports equipment, tools and some items for children, e.g. children’s car seats and life jackets. A list of all items to be borrowed can be found on the library’s website, and the items can be borrowed during service hours only. The library has materials in many different languages, and materials in less common languages can also be ordered from other libraries free of charge.

Using the library’s computer, you can read Finnish and foreign magazines and papers from over 60 countries.

To borrow materials from the library, you need a library card, which is free. You can get a library card by visiting the library during service hours, bring your ID. A library card can be made for a child in the presence of a guardian.

The library has service hours on weekdays 12-16 or 12-18; at these times, staff will be present and ready to help you. Self-service hours, on the other hand, are daily from 7 am to 9 pm. During this time, you can enter the library using your library card and the pin code attached to it. During self-service hours you can independently borrow and return books, read, study or use the library’s computers. You can get your personal pin code when you first get your library card, or later by asking the staff during service hours.
